About The Ocean Foundation
Since 2001, The Ocean Foundation has educated and empowered global citizens to become ocean advocates. Since their inception, they have spent over $8.1 million in conserving marine habitats, and are dedicated to reversing the trend of destruction of ocean environments around the world.
The Ocean Foundation is a unique community foundation with a mission to support, strengthen, and promote those organizations dedicated to reversing the trend of destruction of ocean environments around the world. A key project that is focused on is the Polar Seas Initiative. The polar seas are some of the most unique and critical habitats on our planet! The Arctic and Southern Ocean regions are home to over 235 different marine species.

The Polar Seas Initiative
At distant ends of the Earth, life perseveres despite extreme conditions. In the Arctic and Southern Oceans, the icy edges dividing land and sea seem to breathe with the duel seasons. The polar seas are home to the darkest months, the coldest nights, the densest waters, the driest air, and a diverse community of creatures that have evolved to not only survive, but thrive in this extremity.
Polar Bears are particularly vulnerable to the unprecedented loss of sea ice. With the help of que Bottle and all of you, our participating efforts will support studying the Spring movement ecology of Polar Bears.
The Power of Polar Sea
- Cold water can absorb over twice as much CO2 as warm water. In fact, of the 22 million tons of CO2 absorbed by our ocean every day, the Southern Ocean absorbs over 40%!
- Almost 85% of the Earth’s permanent ice is locked in Antarctic glaciers.
- The icebergs that form around the Southern Ocean each year contain enough freshwater to hydrate every person on Earth for several months!
Only 500 bottles are made.
For every bottle purchased, $5 will be donated to the Ocean Foundation to help researchers combat climate change for Polar Wildlife.
